film

Polaroid Stare.

I inherited a Polaroid Sx-70 from Daniel Burch, and waited a few months before picking up some film. Impossible project film I heard is incredibly temperamental and expensive. But l was lucky enough to buy a pack and have another purchased to shoot the album art for rapper and good friend Moon Matisomoto. I was reading online of how sensitive the film is to light, and the colors are unstable. For me that was never an issue, working with so many kinds of films over the years has given me an appreciation for the occasional oddity. The film once exposed is so precious, it makes me think of how one family photograph used to be extremely precious- before the negative process was developed.

I brought it with me to Brazil but only have one shot left. Stoked to see what I get and work with the Polaroid format more in the future. Hopefully some large format will become part of the process as well.
